Weekly Post | Color Study

For my color study this week, I was thinking about how much I love the color gray.  As an automotive junky, I love things that are all chromed out.  I decided to take my color study one step further and focus on things that are chrome.  It turned out to be a challenge, because I wanted to make sure I was photographing true chrome and not silver or stainless steel.  I wanted my pictures to have lots of light, so I utilized the automotive labs for some of the pictures, because I liked the look of the garage door in the background.

  1. I thought your river water was a very interesting photo, and I like how you turned the sky to water but left the temple clear. I also enjoyed yor blue photos. Very cool textures and angles. I can't hardly tell what they are of until I see the title! Nice work.

  2. Jessica-I love your blending, it looks really cool! Great collection for your color study! I really like how the first photo has repetition with the wrenches. The second photo is a really good example for large aperture and unique angle. Again I like the repetition of the lights in the third picture I also like how there is more repetition inside the lights which makes for an interesting texture. The fourth picture is cool because I have no idea what it is, from the angle you shot it at it looks like a clock, but then I see shapes that remind me of a hubcap. There is a real neat contrast between the darks and lights in the silver! Beautiful pieces!
